James Terminiello has authored six books, contributed to a compilation of film reviews, and has a seventh book, Not Yet Your Time, due in September 2025. He has penned more than 200 columns (remember print?) in publications that include the Philadelphia Inquirer and The Record and 40+ blogs. Writing under the banner “Reason – Able,” he punctures the absurdities infesting contemporary society. Active on X, he has tweeted his opinions more than 6,000 times, whether you like it or not and to little avail.
His books include a four-volume “trilogy” following the fictional life of Logos, the master chef of the mad Roman Emperor Caligula. It covers nearly 40 years of mock history (facts found only in the eye of the beholder). Think Blackadder meets A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and you will understand.

The Conscience of the C.O.D. – This tale takes PC to sea and sinks it. The cruise ship Climax Of Dreams is chosen to house 4,000 refugees from 40 countries. Naturally, it gets hijacked, and our hero, PR man Trip Torrent, tries to keep things from blowing apart while employing all his skills at hype, deception, and all-around hooplah to audition for his ultimate dream job – presidential spokesman. Torrent must navigate South American revolutionaries, a secret stash of special ops weapons, semi-nude Navy commandos, squabbling refugees, an automatic navigation system with a studder, drone attacks, an unexpected global fashion craze, a double-dealing repairman/pirate, a whopping great hurricane, and a robot bartender with strangely synthetic charms.
Junkyard – A young man, Macklyn Farrago, encounters the elderly Mr. Abbas in a junkyard. The old man has built the most extraordinary car – a composite of all cars from around the world. It is meant to be a symbol for mankind. The trouble is, it does not work. Seeking to get Abbas some publicity, Farrago accidentally triggers a semi-religious, semi-millennial, semi-revolutionary craze thanks to the machinations of the grasping media billionaire Sebastian El Dorado and his mysterious assistant Mr. Ott.

COMING IN 2025: Not Yet Your Time: A man romantically pursues a woman who saved his life. She is a member of The Apologizers, a group seeking to lure a departed God back to his people via good deeds. His pursuit lands him, very reluctantly, in the middle of a terrorist kidnapping where the woman has offered herself as a substitute hostage. He encounters the mysterious Kanenas, who founded this group but seems very reluctant to admit to it or lead his followers. The trio embark on an odyssey that takes them from a secret maximum-security facility under the World Trade Center, a labyrinth of tunnels under the Hudson River, a safe house inside a defunct museum, and a trek into the green wilds of New York’s Hudson Valley for a rendezvous with an unexpected destiny.
Retired after a 40+ year career in marketing, communications, public relations, and advertising, he served more than 25 years as the senior writer for the New York accounting and consulting firm Berdon LLP (merged into Citrin Cooperman). For seven years, Jim was the advertising and marketing services manager of the U.S. division of the British fashion retailer Laura Ashley. Earlier, he worked for two public relations firms, and was a reporter for North Jersey Newspapers.
Jim married the effervescent Tara in 1986 and has two children. His son Alexander suffers from autism, and this has made Terminiello a lifelong advocate of anything that will eradicate this affliction. Jim is a supporter of parents who suffer the irrationalities, cruelties, and pains of child estrangement. He resides in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. He originated in the fabled town of Hoboken and has many tales to tell of that legendary burg. Some even have the hue of truth about them.
